Blog EntryIs anyone else experiencing problems?Sep 10, '07 3:34 PM
for everyone
I have been having great difficulty getting onto the Multiply site since yesterday.  I have attempted to upload a few tracks but nothing happens.   At present I have tried again with one track but nothing is happening.
I was wondering if anyone else is having this problem.  If not I would be grateful for suggestions.
Thank you
Paula

I have been uploading today. I did think it seemed slower than usual, but they did get there eventually.

Uploaded a couple of things this evening. All went fine. 2 weeks ago however it was giving problems.

Over the weekend it was the pits. I gave up on it. But this afternoon it appears to be working pretty good.

Laura thank you for letting me know...I was beginning to think it was my computer. I wonder if they are doing maintenance work.

John you are very fortunate, must be where you are situated. I started to upload about 5 songs, went for lunch and they still had not uploaded about an hour later. Thanks for getting back to me. Lets hope tomorrow will be an improvement.

Shirley, you too were finding it slow, I have found it very very slow, lets hope there is an improvement soon. Thank you for letting me know.

springbok I didnt have any problems two weeks ago, it strange that we are all being affected at some time. I thought they would have sent a message round to let us know if there was a problem. BTW if I can upload tomorrow I shall add the rest of the Gene Autry songs. I still havent found the one you wanted.

Babs thank you for replying, the main thing is that my computer does not have a problem. I have had this over the weekend and again today.
Tomorrow is another day.

It was slower than dust when I uploaded those Gasoline Alley fills... I had to delay one set of 10 Archie Andrews shows when it took four hours and still didn't register...

There must be a reason for this as most folks are finding it very slow.
I know what you mean about the time, I waited and waited yesterday and gave up in the end. I guess you were getting the same as me, once I clicked upload hours later and nothing had happened. I have managed to upload files today...but only just it has taken a long time.

I had no problems yesterday and I uploaded quite a bit of stuff.

I havent tried yet today.

John and I are both in So Cal so maybe it has something to do with server location and distance away from it.

Hello Greg,
You are very fortunate as it has been dreadful over here. I think you maybe right, I thought it had to be something to do with where you were situated. I noticed that you were uploading without a problem at the weekend. Lets hope it has cleared today, I shall try to upload later. Thanks for your reply

Hi Paula, I was doing fine yesterday, 9/10, at first, but later in the evening it stalled and wouldn't go anywhere. It said 92 minutes for a few small files...I just stopped it. I'll try again later today.

Hello Chloe, by the sound of things we are all having problems. today I was uploading some files, and I left the computer when I returned, I had a message which read "timed out" and I could not access my website after that. Its like we are all getting different error messages but we are all having problems.
scottishps wrote on Sep 11, '07
Hello Clive,
Like you I was uploading today but it too was very slow, in fact I started to upload one file at a time just in case it was the amount I was uploading but it made no difference.
gilinaz wrote on Sep 11, '07
Those marches I uploaded went through very smoothly..albeit a bit slow, on the first batch. I don't know if it's "file size" or "timing" that's a consideration.

You were very lucky by the sound of things as I was only uploading music files and had problems. Did you have problems over the weekend?
gilinaz wrote on Sep 11, '07
Paula...I didn't upload anything, over the weekend.

I just uploaded something. The upload went ok, but then the regular site started running slow. But that might be my provider running slow too.

I just finished uploading Ozma of Oz in 23 parts. Went really really fast. I was ready to just let it load forever, glad it didn't have to.
scottishps wrote on Sep 12, '07
Gil, you may have noticed a problem then as it was really bad.

Laura, I uploaded something but when I came through to check on my computer there was a message to say that there was a problem on multiply and I couldnt be reconnected. I have had a series of error messages. Lets hope today things will be back to their ususal.

Chloe, you were lucky in saying that perhaps the fault has been rectified

Yesterday I was updating my playlist Christmas OTR it went well for awhile. Uploaded just fine, then all of a sudden the last 10 files I had uploaded disappeared, then I noticed files from other playlists had appeared on the Christmas list. I had to delete those. I left it until today but those files that had disappeared never reappeared so I had to upload them again.

I guess they had a hickup.

By the way I had sent them an e about alpahabatising play-lists. They got back and said they would forward it to the programmers, but they also said they are currently working on the audio-visual system at the moment.

I must say though on the whole I find multiply has very little problems. There will always be hiccups nothing is perfect. A lot of what I find inconvenient are things they just have not introduced yet and I am willing to wait as long as the service is good, and lets not forget it's free.

Sooo slow since the other day. Haven't tried today, though. Got to try uploading now.

Louisa, you are having more weird things happen than me by the sound of things. I was trying to download material, and it was going find then all of a sudden the files would not download. I rebooted my computer then when that was done I discovered that I could not longer get onlne.
I used both browsers, Internet Explorer and Mozilla...but neither could get online.

Yes it is a free service. I have been noticing on some of my contacts lists that there is a lot of different multiply help groups.

I have also found it to be very slow. In fact I thought there was somethng wrong with my computer so I tried my husbands computer and found that it was just as slow as mine if not moreso. It must be something to do with the time. At night everyone is online and I think this makes it difficult.

Good luck with the uploading..I was having problems downloading.
