Blog EntryA Very Worthwhile TipNov 7, '07 2:09 PM
for everyone
Vick's Vapourub

If you or any member of your family have a cough and cannot get to sleep for this, there is a solution.  Rub Vick on the soles of the feet feet and pull on a pair of socks  and you will find the coughing stops almost immediately.

I have tried this myself and it does work, it is like flicking a switch.  It was first tried for infants who couldnt sleep because of a tickly cough and rather than give the child medicine from the doctor, the parents tried Vick and it worked.

It maybe hard to believe but I checked out snopes and it is true.  I have a cough at the moment and this advice arrived in my mailbox just in time.

Do pass this tip on, as it is really very worthwhile knowing as it works for any age.

I also use vicks, but put it on throat and chest... works like a charm! Your body absorbs the essential oils and that is what does the work.

I like the smell of vicks, so I keep it close to my nose ;)

I get my husband to rub my back and I rub my chest however when I was coughing that was not enough. The soles of the feet did the trick...plus the back and chest. I was covered. I am a great believer in Vick...we call it Vick I notice you call it Vicks. I have been told that if you use it on the feet it can reach all parts of your body.

Like you I like the smell and usually put some in a tissue to breathe in. When I have been blowing my nose a lot it is very tender so a tissue is best for me.

Great tip. I get horrid bronchial coughs which totally render me unable to sleep. Thanks for sharing.

It works, I have tried it as I have had problems with a cough myself recently. Let me know if you find it effective. I hope you dont have any colds soon.
